North Korea on Wednesday said that a South Korean and U.S. decision to go ahead with military drills this Spring was a “serious provocation” and demanded the two allies halt their plans.

A spokesman for the Committee for the Peaceful Reunification of Korea (CPRK) said that if the demand to halt drills was ignored, north-south relations could “plunge into a deadlock and unimaginable holocaust”.
