SACRIFICE

The concept of sacrifice in the Catholic church drew many American Indians to this religion. The fact, that the Gods need not be honoured by bloody sacrifice, but that a God (Jesus, in the flesh) sacrificed his life for the benefit of his people, was revolutionary to the Indians of Mexico and Peru. They converted en mass to Catholicism.
