I just saw a report on the news in Peru showing how fishermen are slaughtering up to 15,000 dolphins every year -- for bait to catch endangered sharks. The entire story made me sick -- and now I'm fighting to end this nightmare. Will you join me?
My government is starting to react, but they're not taking enough action yet. Dolphin hunting is already illegal and punishable with several years in prison, but authorities are turning a blind eye -- allowing thousands of dolphins and sharks to be butchered. Jakob vertrok uit Berseba en ging naar Haran. Toen de zon onderging zocht hij een slaapplaats. Toen hij die gevonden had, nam hij een steen om zijn hoofd op te leggen en viel in slaap. 's Morgens richt Jakob de steen op, waardoor een geheiligde plek ontstond. De steen was belangrijk omdat het in rechtstreeks met God in contact is geweest. Deze steen wordt wel de "Bethelsteen" genoemd, naar de plaats waar Jakob sliep. Het geloof ontstond, dat degene die de steen in zijn bezit had, door God zou worden gezegend en gewettigd was om te heersen. Daarom wordt de steen ook wel de "stone of destiny" genoemd. De profeet Jeremiah zou de steen naar Schotland hebben gebracht. De steen kreeg een plek, onder een daarvoor speciaal gebouwde troon. Hierop werden daarna de Schotse koningen gekroond. Een oud rijm luidt:

where they this Stone shall find."
In 1296 versloeg koning Edward I de Schotten. Eén van de eerste opdrachten die hij gaf, was het transporteren van de steen naar Westminster Abbey. Opnieuw werd een speciale troon gebouwd en vanaf dat moment werden alle Engelse koningen en koninginnen op deze steen gekroond. De laatste keer dat dit gebeurde was in 1953, toen Elisabeth de Tweede werd gekroond. Tot veler
verassing besloot de Koninklijke Familie in 1979 de steen terug te geven aan
Schotland. Deze kreeg een plaats in Edinburgh Castle. Voor een nieuwe kroning zou de steen nog wel mogen worden gebruikt. De steen had nu de naam "Foundation stone"gekregen. Het fundament en de legitimering van het Engelse Imperium. Wolfram von Eschenbach gebruikte het thema in zijn Parzival. Hier noemt hij de steen "de Graal"; een ander voorwerp uit de christelijke mystiek. Wagner gebruikte het verhaal in een opera; die uiteindelijk de lievelingsopera van Adolf Hitler zou worden. Volgens veel Schotten is de steen in Edingburgh een kopie. De Engelsen zouden het origineel nooit afstaan. Het mysterie reikt echter verder.
Volgens sommige Schotten was de steen die Edward I had buitgemaakt al nep. De originele steen is eeuwenlang in Schotland verborgen, om vervolgens naar de Nieuwe Wereld te verhuizen.
De steen met al haar toegeschreven macht en betekenis zou zich in de Verenigde Staten bevinden. De steen zou de "Foundation stone" van de nieuwe Amerikaanse republiek worden.

'Water is for living, not for dyeing'

- Jaarlijks wordt mondiaal zestig tot zeventig miljoen ton textiel geproduceerd, waarvan minimaal de helft geverfd wordt. Met water dat daarna vaak vervuild geloosd wordt. Dat dat anders kan, toont Tegenlicht.
Direct achter het station in Weesp vindt een revolutie plaats. Althans, een deel ervan, in het kantorenpand waarin DyeCoo Textile Systems b.v. huist en waarvan Reinier Mommaal directeur is. De revolutie behelst de nieuwe manier waarop sinds kort textiel geverfd (Engels: to dye) kan worden: niet meer met ettelijke liters waters per kilo stof die na één keer gebruiken zwaar vervuild zijn en vervolgens vaak in de natuur geloosd worden, maar met behulp van koolstofdioxide, afvalproduct uit bijvoorbeeld de petrochemische industrie dat voor ongeveer tien cent per kilo te koop is en dat meerdere malen meegaat.
WIST U DIT?
De Lijkwade van Turijn is, volgens de Katholieke Kerk de doek, waarin het lichaam van Jezus Christus, na zijn kruisdood werd gewikkeld en in het graf werd gelegd. Op de doek is de afbeelding zichtbaar van een gekruisigde man, waarvan de rug tot bloedens toe, werd afgeranseld. Het gezicht en de hoofdwonden roepen onmiddellijk associaties op met Jezus. Dit is het gezicht, dat we kennen van de muurschilderingen, schilderijen en ikonen.
Kritici noemen de Lijkwade een Middeleeuwse vervalsing en stellen dat de contouren door een kunstenaar zijn nagetekend. Maar het doek geeft een drie-dimensionaal beeld van het lichaam en zelfs zouden er munten op de ogen zijn gelegd. Hiermee moest, volgens oude gebruiken, de veerman worden betaald, die de dode de rivier de Styx overzette, op weg naar de onderwereld (Hades).
Een dergelijke falsificatie zou zelfs de vermogens van Leonardo da Vinci te boven gaan. Volgens “gelovigen” kon dit alleen maar een bewijs zijn voor de authenticiteit van de Lijkwade.
Dit laatste argument is ontkracht. Emily Graig, een medisch illustrator, toonde in een uitzending van “History's mysteries” aan dat het mogelijk was een afbeelding diepte mee te geven. Het experiment leverde een afdruk op, die opvallende gelijkenis vertoonde met de afdruk op het Turijnse relikwie.
In de vorige eeuw stond de Roomse Kerk wetenschappers toe om kleine stukjes van het doek af te knippen en ze in laboratoria te onderzoeken. Toen de resultaten in Turijn arriveerden, was er sprake van teleurstelling bij de Kerkelijke autoriteiten en de onderzoekers, die meenden dat de lijkwade authentiek was. Door twee laboratoria werd het doek gedateerd als 800 tot 900 jaar oud.
Er zijn twijfels geuit over de datering, maar velen zijn er nu van overtuigd, dat het om een vervalsing uit de Middeleeuwen (1100-1200) gaat. Door de Kruistochten werd West-Europa overstroomd met heilige objecten. Relikwieën, die direct met Jezus in contact zijn geweest, stonden in bijzonder hoog aanzien, zoals de speer van Longinus en het ware Kruis. Het bezit van een dergelijk voorwerp betekende inkomsten omdat pelgrims van heinde en verre toestroomden. Vervalsing van religieuze en heilige voorwerpen was dus lucratief. Herkomst en authenticiteit waren moeilijk in te schatten en vergelijkingen en onderzoek onmogelijk. Zo zou van de restanten van het “Ware Kruis” zoals ze in Europa en Klein-Azië bewaard zijn gebleven en tot op heden worden vereerd, met gemak drie kruizen worden gefabriceerd. Onder het continent Afrika blijkt een enorm waterreservoir te zijn. Vergelijken met het wateroppervlak van totaal Afrika, is de hoeveelheid water zeker honderd keer zo groot als de hoeveelheid in rivieren en meren.

Nu al hebben 300 miljoen Afrikanen geen toegang tot schoon drinkwater. De verwachting is dat het aantal zal toenemen door de groei van de bevolking en irrigatie van landbouwgronden. Op dit moment wordt nog slechts 5% van de landbouwgrond in Afrika geïrrigeerd.

I believe in the existence of unicorns, (and in many more entities and “tendencies to exist”). But most of all, I believe in unicorns.
Why? I never saw a real one, but a long, long time ago, I was about 12 years old, I had gotten permission to visit and use the “Big Library”, for adults only, when I first was confronted by this mystery animal. The building is gone now and so are the many books that were kept there, too.
In the dusty and narrow alleyways one could wander for hours. And this is what I did. History, Geography, exotic locations and the wonders of nature, were my favorite subjects.
One Wednesday afternoon I layed my hands on a big book, richly illustrated , which told the story of the unicorn, who was still alive and kicking. Where? In Kenya!
The book, with a picture of a unicorn on the cover, told the story of an old book, that was recently discovered, which described a strategy to find the mysterious white horse. Or better, the animal would find YOU, if you were worthy.
As a novice, the daring had to undergo a kind of initiation-rite. Quite dangerous, because it meant a close confrontation with lions and elephant. The book described the journey of a German antropologist, who had made it all the way. The book was full of pictures of elephants and a lion-pack. The author got realy close to these wild animals. He was helped by a anoyting oil, the recipee was in the book.
But the last part of the book was the most impressive. Lots of pictures of unicorns in their natural habitat, wearing small blue flowers on their head. There even was a picture of a unicorn charg a lion.
The book was gone, when I searched for it, a couple of years later. But I still am convinced, that the pictures were authentic. No way, that it was faked and manipulated .
Do unicorns exist? Yes!

De namen van de dagen van de week, zoals wij die gebruiken, verwijzen naar Germaanse en Romeinse goden en oerkrachten.
De zon en de maan hebben hun oorsprong in de Romeinse aanbidding van de zon en de maan. Dinsdag verwijst naar de Germaanse oorlogsgod Tyr (Tiu). Woensdag is vernoemd naar de Germaanse oppergod Wodan, net als donderdag, waarin de naam van Donar (de dondergod) doorklinkt. Vrijdag is de dag van Freya, de Germaanse godin van liefde en wellust. Zaterdag tenslotte was de dag van Saturnus, de Romeinse god van de landbouw en de vruchtbaarheid.
Door op de onderscheiden dagen extra aandacht aan de naamgever te schenken, hoopten de Romeinen en de Germanen onheil te voorkomen en voorspoed aan te roepen. De Christelijke kerk heeft deze heidense namen, net als veel andere zaken, zonder problemen over genomen.
Freya
In de beeldende kunst wordt de sleutel gebruikt als symbool van goddelijke macht. Zowel heidense goden als kerkheiligen beeldde men af als sleutelhouder.
Op een mozaïek te Ravenna in het mausoleum van Galla Placida, dat uit 480 dateert, zien we de apostel Petrus als sleutelbewaarder van de hemel afgebeeld. Petrus had de macht om de poort naar de Hemel te openen of te sluiten. Openen van de hemelpoort en toegang tot de Hemel, stonden synoniem voor de vergeving van alle zonden.

This another side of the OM-principle. Official science, philosophies and education and even your work are only there to keep you down. This insight turns you on. Imagine the impact this flash of enlightenment will have on you. The anger, the frustration and the desolation. All finding an outlet at this moment in aggression, violence and completely ignoring the Ten Commandments. People turn into dictators or desperadoes. This is where SiTU steps in. We offer you the tools to analyze reality and ways to practise them. All with goal of showing you the human possibilities.
A second tool I want to mention is The Law of One. Everything is interconnected, everything you do, or even think, has certain effects. These effects and possible aftershocks are your responsibility. This is the meditative side of this tool. Practical you can use it to scan infromation or to analyse the situation your are in. But you also can study landscapes, paintings or music this way. You will enjoy it more, seeing your olod favourites with new eyes. The Law of One also means, that every aspect, every part of the whole, contains much more information and learning possibilities, than you can imagine. Even a grain of sand is unique and at the sametime showing its total uniqueness. If that is true for snowflakes, why not for people. They are much more complex, but seem to be treated all the same.
The third tool we use in SiTU is the Law of Attraction. It means, that if you manipulate energy or matter, this will draw attention. For instance every morning I feed the birds. They are attracted by the dozens. Used in meditation-exercises you can use Automatic writing as a form to warm up your brain after which the information you want or need presents itself.
It is scientifically proven, that praying or contemplation, eases the mind. Collective praying for sick people, even at a distance, has positive effects. Somethinug Hindus are practising for millenia. The Law of Attraction also has a practical side. It is possible to attract interesting people and beautiful women.”

The Ark of the Covenant is described in the Bible as a sacred container, wherein rested the Tablets of stone containing the Ten Commandments as well as Aaron's rod and manna. According to the Biblical account, the Ark was built at the command of God, in accord with Moses' prophetic vision on Mount Sinai (Exodus 25:10-16). God communicated with Moses "from between the two cherubim" on the Ark's cover (Exodus 25:22). The Ark and its sanctuary were "the beauty of Israel" (Lamentations 2:1). Rashi and some Midrashim suggest that there were two arks - a temporary one made by Moses, and a later one made by Bezalel.
The Biblical account relates that during the exodus of the Israelites, the Ark was carried by the priests ~2,000 cubits (Numbers 35:5; Joshua 4:5) in advance of the people and their army or host (Num. 4:5-6; 10:33-36; Psalms 68:1; 132:8). When the Ark was borne by priests into the bed of the Jordan, the river was separated, opening a pathway for the whole of the host to pass over (Josh. 3:15-16; 4:7-18). The Ark was borne in a seven-day procession around the wall of Jericho accompanied by seven priests sounding seven trumpets of rams' horns, the city was taken with a shout (Josh. 6:4-20). When carried, the Ark was always wrapped in a veil, in tachash skins (the identity of this animal is uncertain), and a blue cloth, and was carefully concealed, even from the eyes of the Levites who carried it.

DARWIN'S NIGHTMARE
Everything is interconnected. Connections consisting of several layers, dimensions and levels of existence. Every root in a forest is connected. They protect and maintain each other, even on an emotional level. Plants that are worshipped during growth, talked to and treated well (like ganja f.i.), perform excellent. Even the water, the plants we use, reflect emotions and even react to music. You can imagine, what happens in a forest (emotionally, spiritual and physical), when the chainsaw-gang arrives. Trees are connected, by means of their height and canopy. Watching life in the treetops, opened up a completely new worlds to botanists and biologists. Completely unknown plants and species of butterflies, frogs and even monkeys, were seen for the first time. Seen from above, by satellite, scientists discovered the diversity and harmony of the trees and plant life. This world is destroyed too, because of our insatiable hunger for wood. This ends up in our houses as souvenirs and decoration.
In Africa certain trees warned each other. When an elephant arrived, that started eating, all the trees changed the chemicals in the leaves. They became less edible. The number of birds do not show you, how “natural” an area is. It's the diversity that counts. All the insects, birds and mammals interact with each other. Is there enough to eat, the number of owls grow, because many mice survive. But butterflies harvest on different flowers and mammals eat different plants. When diversity disappears, decline begins.
That's what happened in “Lake Victoria”. This African lake was famous for its divers and colorful fishes. They were liked by fans of tropical fish, all over the world. This type of fish is completely gone and because this eco-system was unique, probably forever. This eco-disaster is completely man-made. To boost the local fishing-industry, the “nile-perch” was introduced. This alien took completely over. Being a predator, unknown to the “locals”, this was heaven. The perches grew bigger and bigger. Now they are eating each other. But the lake has changed too. All the fish had a well defined place in the eco-system. Some ate plankton, some ate plants, some ate insects. This is Darwin's nightmare. The perches don't do things like that. “Lake Victoria” is a place of death.

Names are chosen carefully. Especially names in books. The authors will have taken considerabloe time and thought, before they name their characters. Let's take the name “Harry Potter” as an example.
“Harry” stemms from the German “Hendrik” (Hen(d)ry). The second part means “powerful”, the first part could mean “home or land”, but this is always written with an “m”. It's an aristocratic name, appearing in Germany, around 900 AD.
8 English kings were named Henry (the VIIIth for instance) and at the moment an English prince carries the name Harry.
Harry's first name is powerful and royal. Destined to become king. “Hendrik” is not christian in nature. There are hardly any martyrs or saints carrying that name.
Harry's last name is linked to Wicca and pagan traditions. Interest and practice of these “cults” was already widespread, but J.K. Rowling succeeded in interesting kids in practises and concepts of these ancient, the say Egyptian, traditions.
The Potter symbolises “The Creator”. The craftsman who creates something beautiful out of nothing, with nothing but gracious and simple handmovements. The Potter is a name given to the creating force which powers our universe.
You see, the author chose the names carefully. Harry Potter is “The Once and Future King”. Linking it to even older sources, like Atlantis. The lesson for today. Is our young sorcerer's name an
anagram?
